ナイトメア 「Sleeper」 / Nightmare

How are you doing?

Nightmare is a really cool band. I'm sure some of you have heard that their drummer isn't really the best so they make up for it with sick guitar and base riffs and freaking awesome vocals, but he isn't too bad. Anyways, just wanted to say that.

Now to introduce you to the single Sleeper.



Like I said before, Nightmare is a really good band. (They did the opening and ending for Deathnote for goodness sakes! And yes, I did just realize this and Deathnote is actually pretty good, even though I have just started watching it. -_-')

Sleeper, the title track for this single, is quite interesting. I like the monotone verses with the more popish chorus.
The video its self is quite simple, but I think it does send a message. The switching back and forth between the band and the dancing girl gives a sense of monochromeness to the video. It's calming, and maybe even slightly sad, which clashes well with the more popish beats of the song.

Star Spangled Breaker is quite an interesting song... I wonder what the band was thinking naming it with a slight reference to America. Either way, it's also quite a popish song but a little 'slowish' I suppose. Like it has a calm sense of pop while still being quite upbeat. There is a video to it... but I have not seen the full PV on Youtube. Therefore, I can only relly comment on the song. :(

On to the next song!
アイリス (Iris) is also kind of popish. Fun and overall upbeat, this is one of the best songs on the CD besides Sleeper its self. It's just a really, really, overall good song. AND I LIKE IT!!
